Diagnostic, Psychological and Assessment Services
Alliance Youth Services offers diagnostic, psychological, and psychoeducational assessments to children, adolescents, and adults, specializing in working with individuals with behavioural problems, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder and Autism Spectrum Disorder.
At AYS we provide comprehensive evaluations of the client's personality, developmental and academic achievement, intellectual functioning, and clinical diagnoses detailing how these psychological, cognitive, and social factors impact on a person's overall functioning. All assessments include a detailed report describing the individual's strengths and needs, diagnosis (if applicable), as well as professional recommendations.
All assessments are conducted by Karen Catney, M.Ed., Mental Health Specialist & Registered Organic Brain Dysfunction Clinical Examiner, under the clinical direction and supervision of Dr. Jon Mills C.Psych., ABPP, Registered Psychologist & Fellow, American Board of Professional Psychology.

- Psychological, psychiatric, & clinical disorders
- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder/Attention Deficit Disorder
- Problems with Adaptive and Executive Functioning
- Learning Disabilities
- Global Developmental Delays
- Social problems
- Emotional problems
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Sensory Screening (for referral to Occupational Therapist to further assess for Sensory Processing Disorder
- Pre-medical screening for Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD)
