Respite ServicesAlliance Youth Services Inc. has been providing FASD specific respite, as well as respite services for individuals of all ages with behavioural problems, mental health challenges, developmental delays and cognitive delays in Southern Ontario for the past 8 years.
Goals of respite/relief support:
- To prevent caregiver burnout and placement breakdown
- Provide positive experiences for children, adolescents and adults with a respite/relief worker
- Offer support to families and children, adolescents and adults through both planned and emergency respite/relief services
We have licenced homes that provide overnight/respite care to children of all ages, as well as adults. Through collaboration with the primary caregiver, our respite families will support respite placements through maintaining the same rules and expectations in our respite homes to ensure continuity of care and to prevent the respite home from disrupting primary placements. We also provide hourly relief care to assist the primary caregivers with problematic behaviours, as well as provide short-term relief to the family. Relief can be provided on a planned or emergency basis.
We accept referrals from agencies or caregivers to support families or individuals of all ages. Please contact us for more information or to determine whether or not we offer support in your region. |
